Swordsmiths forge “Spear of Longinus” from Evangelion anime
The replica of “Spear of Longinus” that appeared in “Neon Genesis Evangelion” anime has been forged. The sword/spear remained faithful in looks to the original and measures 3.3 m (over 10 feet).
The sword display will be available to the public from July 2012 at the Bizen Osafune Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture Museum of swords (Osafune). The former township of Osafune is best known as the home of some of the most skilled swordsmiths in Japanese history.
The Evangelion exhibit will run from July 14 to September 17. The same museum hosted an exhibit with the weapons and armor from the Sengoku Basara game last summer, and 20,000 visitors (mostly young people) visited.

Man who ran as Hulk cosplay can not return to the ‘human form’
To handle the difficult path, with sloping ascents, the Challenge of Peace, in the German Complex, Paulo Henrique dos Santos, 35, decided to dress up as the Incredible Hulk and seek forces worthy of the hero of the film. During the competition, in the Complexo do Alemão, the costume was a hit. But when it’s time to get rid of it the surprise: Paulo could not return to the “human form”.
“I spent hours in the bath trying to get this makeup and nothing. I had to ask for help from my girlfriend. The worst is that the paint shows no sign of giving away. The product is impregnated in my body. Even rubbing soap, still green” - he said.
“I was happy to run in my community and show the world that we have good here, and disclose my work as a singer. Now I’m very sad, not knowing what to do. I am embarrassed by this situation.”

These hanging curtains of childhood weapontry are a tribute to Hong Kong’s former glorious title of top plastic toy producer in the world. I dont have the title, but if I did you’d only be able to get it if you pried it from my wet, pruney fingers.

I received an email from a cosplayer that we interviewed at Cos & Effect in Vancouver, BC that I wanted to share with everyone. here it is:
“”Hello!
I’m not sure if this is in any way possible, but at Cos & Effect last year, you interviewed me and another Homestuck cosplayer. We didn’t know each other at the time, and that was how we started talking. And since then, we haven’t really stopped.
He’s now my best friend, and the most important person in my life.
So I just wanted to, first and foremost, thank you. Because of this documentary, I met the most amazing kid, and he apparently thinks I’m aight, too~
Maya.”“
I of course wrote back saying what a great story it was and if they wouldn’t mind if I shared it with our fans.
“”I don’t mind at all! Jack is actually right beside me, now (he was asleep when I wrote you earlier), and he wants me to mention the fact that we actually ended up going to Ohio together, which is where we are right now. We plan on moving in with each other soon, as well! So really, I cannot thank you enough~
We can’t wait to see your finished film,”“
This email was soon followed by an email from Jack:
“”Note from Jack (I was going to add this as an insert to the last message but Maya hit send…) -
I really can’t thank you enough for interviewing us. I’m so lucky to have met Maya and I don’t know if that ever would have come to pass without your interview having happened - I doubt I would have worked up the nerve, haha. Maya mentioned we’re in Ohio - well, actually she ended up coming out here with me for me to be able to have surgery - she’s been helping me recover. There’s no way I could have made it out here on my own, and I can’t think of anyone better to have accompanied me, so I really owe a lot to the serendipity of that interview… not to mention that talking about trans* stuff in that interview was one of the first times I was really open and upfront in public like that. Running into your crew (and m’dear Maya, of course) at Cos & Effect was at the root of a lot of good things happening in my life.
Just a little anecdote from a pair of cosplayers who owe a fair bit to the community.
-Jack”“
All in all I would have to say that the film while not being finished yet is already a huge success!
